How To Find Highlighter To Suit Your Skin Tone

by Augusta Statz

Everyone, including the Kardashians, has openly subscribed to the latest beauty trend. Non-touring is all about a natural-looking makeup look, with a strong highlight, of course. And if you’re planning on glowing all summer long, you’re going to need to know just how to find the perfect highlighter for your skin tone.

Thankfully, Khloé Kardashian took to her website to share how her makeup artist, Joyce Bonelli, gives her such a killer highlight. Bonelli recommends going a shade lighter than your natural skin tone for a highlight that’s going to show up and really shine. As far as bronzer, she suggests going a shade darker and applying around the jawline and hairline. This method of outlining the face is way less work than contouring, but it’ll give you all of the definition you could need!

I definitely didn’t know this little highlighter tip, but it makes sense that a shade lighter than your natural color would really shine in the light. And with all of the highlighter you’re bound to be wearing (all over your body) it’s an important thing to note. Enough talk — let’s get to shopping some shimmery shades to get you ready for summer, shall we? Most definitely!

She's got a shimmer that just won't stop! You can have one, too, by shopping highlighters that come in a variety of colors.
