Chad From 'The Bachelorette' Also Has A Soft Side

At this point it's safe to say that Bachelorette suitor Chad Johnson has made a distinct impression on both viewers and his fellow contestants. But while it's easy to paint Chad as the latest Bachelorette villain, I think there's a lot more to him than meets the eye, some of which that simply cannot be conveyed properly on paper. That's not to say, though, that the ABC bios aren't helpful in getting to know each perspective suitor. For example, you may be curious to know how tall Chad is, especially considering how many times he's already insulted poor Alex's height on camera. And thanks to the bios, the answer to that question is easily accessible: 6'2". But I'm just saying that when it comes to a guy like Chad, we're going to have to dig a little deeper to know whether or not he's a worthy enough guy to win JoJo Fletcher's heart.

I could spout off facts and figures about Chad until I'm blue in the face — like the fact that he's 28 years old and currently works as a Luxury Real Estate Agent. However, that's not going to give me the details I need in order to truly assess his character. Is he really the villain the show is making him out to be or is there a softer side that has yet to come to the surface? After taking a closer look at his bio and factoring in everything we know about Chad so far, I'm starting to think there may actually be a decent guy underneath all that cockiness. So before you completely write this guy off as a bad boy, here are a few things you should know...

He's Very Family Oriented

As Chad revealed to JoJo during Monday night's episode, he recently lost his mom to cancer and it became instantly clear they were very close. So even if he is causing a lot of tension among the other suitors, he does deeply care about the people he loves and sticks by them in good time and bad.

He's Served His Country

Being a former Marine adds yet another positive aspect to Chad's character and proves how loyal and dedicated he is to his country — a solid indicator of how he'd also treat JoJo.

He's Great With Animals

And since I like to think that dogs are great judges of character, I'm just going to go ahead and put these adorable selfies in the "For Chad" column. After all, his dog Pumpkin knows the real Chad a lot better than any of us do right now.

One Of His Favorite Movies Is The Notebook

So the way I see it is, anyone who's a fan of this Ryan Gosling classic can't be all that bad. Consider me sold.
