Selena Gomez's First Louis Vuitton Campaign Is Super '90s — PHOTO
She was born in 1992 so she is certainly a child of the '90s, even if she was super young during most of it. Still, Selena Gomez's first Louis Vuitton ad is so '90s, pulling inspo from the decade of her birth. Gomez rocked a LV design at the 2016 Met Gala, complete with chunky-heeled, very '90s booties. She is wearing a similar look in her first campaign shot, which has an aviation vibe, since Gomez is posed by an aircraft. But the thick heels, which her BFF Taylor Swift also sported on the May 2016 cover of Vogue, aren't the only way that Gomez took inspo from the '90s in this shot. Many of Gomez's LV campaign shots are '90s-like, BTW.
The singer and actor also shows off dark brown lips. Coffee-colored lipstick was so "in" during the '90s, and you can credit Kylie Jenner for bringing all sorts of matte browns back. Gomez's lip look is glossed, which was a favorite texture of the '00s, but make no mistake, that shade is so '90s.
Her color-blocked dress feels super current and of this era, though. So it's not all retro.
Observe Gomez for LV below. Don't you just love her windblown waves? They are super defined, which is another '90s convention.
Chunky heels are back!
Gomez has rocked this look before in 2016.
She added white laces to the shoes she wore with her Met Gala gown.
Swift's platform booties had that '90s energy, too.
