Poll: G.O.P. Takes the Heat for Gridlock From Voters

by Katherine Johnson

According to a poll released on Friday from Quinnipiac University, 51 percent of Americans believe that Republicans are causing gridlock. Beep beep.

Americans, 64 percent of 'em, are blaming both parties for the lack of political movement, with 23 percent specifically blaming the G.O.P. However, when it comes to comparing Obama and the Republicans, most believe the G.O.P. is halting progress.

Researchers revealed that 51 percent of those polled think that "Republicans in Congress are determined to block" Obama's initiatives. Only 35 percent blame the standstill on Obama's lack of "personal skills to convince leaders of Congress to work together."

Overall, a staggering 71 percent of Americans are unsatisfied with the job Republicans are doing in D.C., but Democrats are in a close second with 62 percent. The Republican Party continues to take a beating, but maybe the American public is fed up with both parties now.
