Pope Francis Dropped The F-Bomb During A Sunday Blessing, And Thankfully There's Video

Because who doesn't accidentally curse in public every now and then? On Sunday morning, Pope Francis accidentally dropped the F-bomb during a public blessing, proving once and for all that he's a man of the people. Smack in the middle of his address, the Pope's Italian became a little... jumbled. Instead of saying "caso," which means case, he said "cazzo" — the Italian equivalent of the words "fuck" or "shit."

In short, what the Pope ended up saying was:

"If each one of us does not amass riches only for oneself, but half for the service of others, in this fuck."

Awkward.

Pope Francis quickly corrected himself, but the damage was done. And we do mean damage: Italy's The Local, otherwise known as "Italy's News in English," was a little melodramatic about the incident.

Pope Francis made a rare linguistic error during his weekly blessing on Sunday, transforming a harmless Italian word into one of the strongest swearwords in the dictionary.

Still, nobody seems too offended by the slip-up. Actually, it's a little endearing that the highest official in the Catholic Church can make foot-in-mouth mistakes. Here's footage of the blessing-slash-cursing; the "cazzo" comes at 0:07.
