Learn The 'Center Stage: On Pointe' Dance

by Kaitlin Reilly

If you're like me and have zero coordination, but still appreciate the art of a beautifully choreographed dance routine, then this new video from the team behind upcoming film Center Stage: On Pointe might just be for you. The latest film in the Center Stage franchise premiered on Lifetime on June 25, and will be released on DVD September 6. Though you might not be able to live out your childhood aspirations of becoming a ballerina, watching the story of dancers striving to earn a spot at the American Ballet Academy might be your next best thing. If that's not enough for you, this new exclusive clip will teach you how to perform one of the Center Stage: On Pointe character's audition pieces from the film. Who says it's too late to be a ballerina?

The clip, which features former Dance Moms' star Chloe Lukasiak, makes learning this dance easy for even the most uncoordinated. In the film, Lukasiak's character Gwen is one of the aspiring dancers yearning for a spot in the famous ballet academy, and therefore needs a killer audition dance in order to secure a place. Fortunately, you don't have to have years of dance experience under your belt to master this routine. Lukasiak breaks up the dance by eight counts across multiple videos, so all you have to do is practice a piece of the routine, nail it, and then move on to the next video when it lands online.

Okay, okay — so it's not all that easy. I still felt like I had two left feet when I attempted to learn these moves, but a prima ballerina wasn't made in a day. Think you can knock this dance out of the park? If so, share your routine using the hashtag #CenterStageChallenge — you might just realize a talent you never knew you had.
