The world's most famous bridesmaid is now a soon to be bride: Pippa Middleton is engaged. She and her long time boyfriend, James Matthews, announced their engagement on Monday. Naturally, the sister of Duchess Kate needs a ring worthy of royalty. So what does Pippa Middleton's engagement ring look like? In a word? It's gorgeous.
The main stone is an Asscher cut diamond and appears to be at least three carats (lucky Pippa.). It's set in an octagonal halo of white gold and diamonds, and appears to be flawless in quality. The ring lays flat on her hand, which makes it easy to wear because it won't get caught on anything during everyday use. Pippa is keeping mum on who the designer is, and people are speculating that it may be a custom piece or, given it's 1920s Great Gatsby-era vibe, a vintage find.
Seeing how stunning Middleton was as the Maid of Honor in her sister Kate's wedding, I personally can't wait to see her as a bride. While I am sad things didn't work out between she and Prince Harry (Was that ever actually a thing? Or an Internet rumor?) I know she will have a wedding fit for a princess.
I mean, can you even?! Besides the fact that that bag is literal #goals, the ring is sparkly and amazing and I cannot take my eyes off of it. I also appreciate the fact that she doesn't have any nail polish on, because it's further proof that stars really are just like us.
For those of us who can dare to dream about our own royal wedding (and who also only have our nails polished 50-60% of the time), here are three rings that look like Pippa Middleton's... but don't cost the $260,000 that people are estimating hers is worth.
1. Double Bands For Extra Sparkle
Princess Cut Octagonal CZ Ring, $69.99, PalmBeachJewelry.com
For under $100, this is a pretttttty good knockoff of the princess's sister's ring... as long as you're cool with the fact that it's a CZ.
2. A Million Tiny Crystals
Sterling Silver Octagonal Halo Ring, $55, Kohls.com
So. Many. Stones.
3. A Big, Honkin' Diamond
CZ Four Pronged Engagement Ring, $39.99, Target.com
OK, full disclosure it's a CZ crystal, not a diamond. But this princess cut diamond and pavé halo could easily pass for the real thing.
