Lady Gaga Will Lend Her Voice To The DNC

by Michelle McGahan

With all of the stars slated to attend the 2016 Democratic National Convention — seriously: Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Chloe Grace Moretz, Debra Messing, Lena Dunham, and America Ferrera, just to name a few who've announced that they'll be there — it's only natural to wonder which other A-list Hillary Clinton supporters will be there to watch the presumptive Democratic nominee get the official nomination. Lady Gaga, for one, has long been outspoken about her support for Clinton — but will Gaga be at the 2016 DNC?

According to Billboard, Gaga will perform at the "Camden Rising" concert event on Thursday, July 28 as part of the Democratic National Convention. The show will be held just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia (where the actual convention is taking place) at the BB&T Pavillon in Camden, New Jersey — which, by the way, is a great open-air venue, just in case you wanted my opinion. Billboard reports that the concert will take place "hours" before Clinton cinches the nomination, and in addition to music from Gaga, will also feature performances from Lenny Kravitz and DJ Jazzy Jeff, who will probably rap a little of the Fresh Prince theme song in honor of the proximity to Philly and all.

It is not the first time that Gaga will have performed in support of Clinton. Back in June 2015, the "Til It Happens To You" singer and Tony Bennett performed at a fundraiser for the presumptive Democratic nominee at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. It was after that performance that the world was #blessed with the iconic photo above, which shows Clinton posing with Lady Gaga, who is rocking a super-meta "Yaaaas, Hillary!" T-shirt.

While there are no promises that Gaga will wear the tee during her performance (one can only dream), it's safe to say that she'll deliver a rousing performance that'll certainly get Clinton supporters — and the staff and volunteers of the DNC — hyped for Clinton's official nomination. I'm personally hoping for a Gaga/Kravitz/DJ Jazzy Jeff collab, but that really may be asking too much.
