#TBT To When This All Began

by Yvonne Juris

It's a charmed story that sort of feels like it was taken right out of a Shakespearean play. Some might call it a political fairy tale with a feminist ending, but no matter how you view the Clinton family history, it's a story that you just can't make up. Some pictures do tell a thousand words, and these photos from Hillary and Bill Clinton's wedding, held in 1975, certainly tells a grand story.

After spending years beside her husband as he ran for governor of Arkansas in 1978 and finally for the presidency of the United States, former President Bill Clinton got to embrace Hillary on the national stage at the DNC, a day after she became the first woman to receive the presidential nomination from a major political party.

Bill Clinton's touching endorsement speech, which began with a personal narrative on the Clinton love story and how they first met when they were students at the Yale Law School, showed another side to the 42nd president, as he seemed to wholeheartedly embrace the role of political spouse. It was a side that some were enthralled with, others like MSNBC's Rachel Maddow was less than enthused with, but at any rate, it was a memorable start to a legendary endorsement speech.

Here are some photos from their wedding day, that Bill was long waiting for.

And as a bonus, here's a photo of them at their only daughter's wedding. Chelsea Clinton married Marc Mezvinsky in 2010.

During the final day of the convention, in which Hillary, the former first lady, took center stage, and just two days after her husband gave a long, glowing speech about his wife's many accomplishments, it's only appropriate for this TBT of when this political powerhouse began.

And to think it would all result in this historic shot.
