Katy Perry Better "Rise" To The Teen Choice Awards

The Teen Choice Awards may be brimming with Vine stars and Youtubers more than ever in 2016, but the star-studded attendees will still include your favorites from mainstream film, television and music. Unfortunately, the guest list is still a bit of a mystery. Will Katy Perry be at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards? It's unclear whether or not the five-time winner will be in attendance.

After making a big appearance at the DNC this week, will Perry surf that wave of positivity right over to the Teen Choice Awards? I hope so! Since there is a "Choice President" category, believe it or not, Perry might be the right person to represent Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. (Did you just get chills? I have a couple of chills.)

Perry is nominated in the most awkwardly named category of all time, "Choice Twit," referring to her Twitter account. In 2014, she took home the award for Social Media Queen and has been nominated in the Twit category before. However, this is her only 2016 nomination, and she has not been announced as a presenter or a performer at this time. It would make sense for all nominees to be present, but that is not always the case at any awards show. Whether or not she'll be at the TCA is pure speculation.

In my opinion, the most likely reason for Katy Perry to attend the Teen Choice Awards would be to perform "Rise" live one more time before the Rio Olympics. It's a new song, it's got a lot of momentum, and this is the perfect opportunity.

Look, the song may be old, but Katy Perry is still the voice of teenage dreams. She even co-hosted the awards in 2010. She's gotta be there, even if she might be inching closer to the Teen Choice "Decade Award" that Justin Timberlake is receiving this year. The show would just not be complete without her, so fingers crossed, Katykats!
