JoJo's Overprotective Brothers Are Back On 'Bach'

If I had a nickel for every time a family member on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette made a stink about their relative being on the show, I would have at least a few dollars. From Clare Crawley’s sister being mean to Juan Pablo (even though I think JP deserved it) to Desiree Hartsock’s brother dissing Sean Lowe, there has always been an element of disgruntled family members on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Now that JoJo’s family is about to meet her last two guys — Robby Hayes and Jordan Rodgers — I have to ask. Do JoJo’s brothers like Bachelorette star Robby Hayes?

As you may remember, Ben and Matt Patton, JoJo’s half-brothers, did not at all take kindly to Ben Higgins on his season of The Bachelor. They told Ben that he was brainwashing all of the women on the show to fall in love with him, and they weren’t even sure that Ben loved his sister enough to want to be with her for the rest of his life. JoJo was embarrassed at the time, but boy, were her brothers right — Ben pulled that whole “I’m going to say I love you to two women” thing and ended up dumping JoJo right at the finale. Sometimes, your family really does know you best.

Now that JoJo is doing this whole reality television love thing again, I think her brothers would be even more wary about the men she brings home. Maybe JoJo knows herself and this whole Bachelorette process a little better now, but that doesn’t mean that her brothers won’t look out for her. That’s why I think her brothers won’t exactly fall in love with Robby.

Look — Jordan isn’t without his problems, but when you put Robby and Jordan next to each other, Robby seems like the much bigger opportunist, mostly because of the timeline of his last relationship. With JoJo being as close to her family as she is, there is absolutely no way that she’s not going to tell them about all of the stuff with Robby’s ex, Hope Higginbotham. As fans have seen, JoJo's unsure if he's truly over Hope, though Robby has insisted he is several times. Robby has also stated that he didn't break up with Hope to go on the show, and that, despite the close timelines, his relationship was over far before the official end date in December, shortly before filming commenced.

Considering that Ben and Matt hated Ben Higgins, who is the squeaky-cleanest Bachelor of all time, they are probably not going to take kindly to all of these rumors that surround Robby. I expect Robby to get grilled by JoJo’s brothers because they don’t want their little sister to get hurt again. I’m sure they saw how bad it was for her after The Bachelor wrapped, and they don’t want her to go through that again. JoJo’s brothers likely just don’t want to be right again about another one of JoJo’s bad boyfriends, so Robby better be able to answer their questions honestly, and correctly, when he meets them.
