Kevin Bacon Needs to Tell You Something

by Anna Klassen

Have you ever heard of OK Twinder? Neither have we, but according to Kevin Bacon, it's what all of us millennials are using to get dates nowadays. This is just one of the numerous points Kevin Bacon makes in a video about '80s Awareness released Monday. Yes, awareness of the 1980s is important to The Following's Kevin Bacon, because it was home to things like parachute pants and "how hard life was" if you were born before 1985. "I'm two time Saturn Award nominee Kevin Bacon, and I would like to talk to you about '80s awareness," the actor begins, removing his blacked out sun glasses and looking deeply into the camera lense.

The two-minute video pokes fun at social media, how hard dating was without it: "I went to the white pages — Google it — and called her house, and then you had to make small talk with her mom for like 20 minutes before Alisha even came to the phone..."

Bacon also offers first hand accounts of the difficulties of living in the 1980s, mainly, the United States conflict with Russia in the Cold War. "You couldn't even skateboard to a Blockbuster without getting nuked," he complains.
