Kanye Premieres "Fade" Music Video At VMAs

Did it just get hot in here? During a mystery set at the 2016 MTV VMAs on Sunday, Aug. 28, Kanye West premiered his new music video for "Fade" at the 2016 VMAs on Sunday night, and not only was Teyana Taylor starring in it but she was also bringing total '80s Flashdance vibes. "Fade" is from West's album The Life of Pablo and the music video, like the album, is exclusively available on TIDAL, but MTV also posted it so everyone can enjoy it. Before Yeezy even stepped on stage, the rumor was that West would be giving the audience four minutes of an unrehearsed surprise — and speculation ran wild. But West didn't let the mystery go on for long when he stepped on stage — he immediately stated his intentions: "I came here to present my new video, but before i do that, I'mma talk."

And once the speech was over, the video did not disappoint. It features Taylor sweaty and dancing around in a gym wearing a thong and a sports bra. Simple, yet totally effective and very Kanye. It's totally reminiscent of several '80s and '90s TV shows and movies, like Flashdance, Janet Jackson's video for her song "Pleasure Principle," and even that Hot Sundae song from Saved By The Bell (anyone remember that?). It's like Yeezy loves those two decades as much as everyone on the internet does.

And after that intense workout, Taylor heads to the shower for some steamy times with Iman Shumpert. By the end of the session, Taylor has become a cat who is flanked by sheep, because it can't be a Kanye West music video without some kind of funky twist, can it?

And with that, West has stolen the show at the VMAs once again. Watch the video below.
