20 Gorgeous Dresses Under $80
I've decided that I want to be one of those girls who wears dresses all of the time. They make getting ready so much easier because all you have to do is put on one article of clothing (hello, sleeping in 10 minutes later every morning). My revelation has me on the hunt for gorgeous dresses under $80, in particular. After all, a price point like that won't break the bank, but it will allow you to stock your closet with some beautiful and still totally on-trend dresses.
Dresses are basically a complete outfit. All you have to do is add accessories and a great pair of shoes. You can buy a beautiful dress and learn how to wear your dress throughout the year, depending on what you throw on with it. Want to wear it in summer? Pair it with cute sandals or wedges. And then, transition your dress into fall and winter by throwing on some tights, a leather jacket, and some fun booties. No matter the season, you can easily find affordable dresses.
But, I am a one-stop shop kind of girl, so that's why I head to Shop Spring when I'm looking for a specific type of clothing. The site offers free shipping, and it has the complete collections of all of your favorite brands. And the best way to make sure you're staying on trend is to shop their best-sellers — which is exactly what I did.
1. Off-The-Shoulder Shirt Dress
There's no denying that the off-the-shoulder trend is everywhere this year. Plus, a dress that transitions between seasons is a great buy, and this one is perfect for summer and fall. The pretty ruffled neckline and thin, long sleeves are great for both seasons.
2. Basic Black Trapeze Dress
Everyone needs a basic black dress. They go with everything. You can dress them up or wear them with a pair of Converses and be super casual. The flare cut and sleeveless design make this one an obvious addition to your closet.
3. Off-The-Shoulder Mini Dress
This cute patterned mini dress can be worn dressed up or down. The gorgeous blue details, lace-up neck and off-the-shoulder design combines all of the major trends going on right now. Stylish and pretty.
4. Bell Sleeved Midi Dress
Didn't you hear? The '70s are back, and this cotton midi dress is perfect for channeling your boho side. The bell sleeves and embroidered details give off the vibe that you're feeling groovy.
5. Pretty Lace Midi Dress
For the perfect combo of edge and sweetness, go for a black dress made with delicate lace. Rock it with a pair of booties and an awesome leather jacket to channel your inner Madonna (circa 1980).
6. Patterned Mini Dress
A colorful dress with a beautiful pattern is a great way to make a statement. This chiffon dress is a really good option for fall, if you pair it with some booties. This is an easy outfit because you don't need to accessorize as much.
7. Cutout Maxi Dress
I love a good maxi dress. And this one combines a gorgeous cutout back and a flowy skirt, making it a must have for your closet. Wear it on date night, and wow your partner.
8. Statement-Making Pencil Dress
A dress that you can take from the office to happy hour is a necessity for every kickass 9-to-5 girl out there. The pencil skirt silhouette and striking print make a big statement, while still being appropriate enough for a corporate environment.
9. Preppy Scallop-Edged Dress
Another great option for the office is a collared dress in an eye catching color. The hem features a beautiful scalloped, embroidered edge and it comes with a detachable tie rope around the waist. Wear it with a cardigan for an ultra preppy look.
10. Edgy Cutout Shift Dress
Silence + Noise is one of my favorite lines under Urban Outfitters. Their dresses have a great fit, and they often feature minimalist designs with a bit of edge. How great would this look with a leather jacket?
11. Simple Shirt Dress
A simple dress can be super versatile. And while this navy, collared dress may be basic, you can wear it so many ways. Throw it on with some sneakers and head out to run errands or put on a pair of boots or heels for a bit of chicness.
12. Boho Off-The-Shoulder Dress
Combine all the major trends with this one: floral print, off the shoulder, and bell sleeves. A dress that can be styled to look differently each time is a major win for your closet. This super stylish dress is the perfect mix of boho chic and edgy rocker, depending on what you pair it with.
13. Open-Back Floral Frock
A trapeze silhouette looks great on everyone. And this open-back floral print dress comes in a stunning silhouette and a beautiful color. It's the perfect summer-to-fall transition dress to have in your closet.
14. Satin Midi Slip Dress
The '90s are back along with the '70s, and that means loose-fitting satin slip dresses. The romantic style meets edgy bad girl when you put on some black chelsea boots, a leather jacket and a choker (anything that goes with a choker these days wins in my book).
15. Peter Pan Collared Mini Dress
Peter Pan collars are adorable and chic. Channel your inner Alexa Chung and rock her signature style. The dress comes in an oversized fit, ensuring that it will be both comfortable and stylish.
16. Floral Midi Dress
A nice dress is a closet staple. You never know when you're going to need something a little fancier to wear out. This gorgeous floral dress is a great option for a fancy dinner or party without being over-the-top.
17. Halter Maxi Slip Dress
An effortless dress that can be worn in more than one way is a great find. This sheer dress can be layered over an opaque slip and be worn out on the town or you can wear it as a cover up. It's a dress that you can find use for no matter what time of the year it is, making it a really good buy.
18. Retro Printed Mini Dress
I love a bold and fun dress. And anything that looks better with tights on is something I look for (wearing dresses in the fall with a great pair of tights is one of my favorite things ever). This retro-looking dress features not one but three different patterns, making it a super unique option for fall.
19. Gold Glittery Party Dress
You never know when you're going to get invited to a fabulous party, so you should always have a fun party dress hanging in your closet. A loose-fitting, gold sequin dress is the perfect way to make sure you stand out. It's a great option for a night out clubbing in Vegas, New Year's Eve, or a fun soiree.
20. White Embroidered Dress
Whoever said you can't wear white after Labor Day was so wrong. Winter white is one of my favorite trends to play with during the colder months. The drop waist, mock neck dress is a great option to play with, if you're into that trend. Just throw on some tights and some layers (sweater, leather jacket, whatever) and you're good to go.
