The anticipation for awards shows almost always focuses on the nominations themselves, but for fashion lovers, it's all about the red carpet. Anticipating which 2016 Emmy Awards outfits to get excited about is an exercise in speculation, but it's also a whole lot of fun to ponder which celebrities will wear your favorite looks — and which ones will shock you.

2. Beyonce

There's been a lot of speculation around whether Beyonce will attend the 2016 Emmy Awards, but if she does, you know she'll bring some serious slay. After her absolutely stunning red carpet look from the VMAs, Beyonce's look for the Emmys should be one to look out for.

3. Claire Danes

Claire Danes always slays the red carpet and she's nominated for an Emmy in lead actress in a drama, so there's no doubt that Danes will be out to impress on the 2016 Emmy Awards red carpet. It's doubtful she'll ever beat that Met Gala light up dress, though.

4. Danielle Brooks

Danielle Brooks makes many plus size people proud with her bold outfit choices, and there's no reason this year will be any different. Although Orange Is The New Black is only nominated for one Emmy this year, the cast are sure to turn up to give their full support to the show.

5. RuPaul

RuPaul just won his first Emmy for Host of a Reality/Reality-Competition, and there should be an award for this astonishingly kitsch and campy pink polkadot suit. While it remains to be seen if RuPaul will be at the Emmy awards ceremony or red carpet this year, if he is? Keep an eye out for one of the best suits you will see in your life.

Gaby Hoffmann isn't just an engaging and interesting actress — who's nominated for best supporting actress in a comedy series BTW — but an interesting and engaging dresser too. Keep an eye out for Hoffman on this year's Emmy red carpet, because she's sure to do something a little different.

7. Maisie Williams

This Game Of Thrones actress may have to wear the same, dreary outfit over and over while in character, but her personal style is chic but playful. Hopefully, she'll be part of a younger generation of actors who lead the best-dressed lists in the future. Just look at those to die for, fluffy heels that Williams accessories with her pink dress at last year's Emmys.

8. Idris Elba

The inclusion of Idris Elba on this list isn't for his outstanding personal style, but because this man is genuinely just pleasing to look at. If you want a safe bet for a strong suit and a winning smile, keep an eye out for Idris Elba and be sure to cheer him on for his nomination for lead actor in a limited story.

9. Laverne Cox

Seeing what Orange Is The New Black cast member Laverne Cox wears on the red carpet of any awards show thrills me to the bone. This actor is all about tight dresses with a twist and there's no doubt you'll see something similar at the 2016 Emmys.

Only time will tell if these stellar dressers will show up for the 2016 Emmys. As for right now, fantasizing about their possible looks is just as fun as actually seeing them strut down the red carpet.
