Beyonce Was A No Show At the 2016 Emmys

We waited and waited, but we're officially calling it — Beyonce was a no show at the 2016 Emmys. Because the #kween has never met a red carpet she didn't dominate, expectations were high as the world waited to see what she would wear to grace her very first Emmys red carpet. Sadly, tonight was just not our night to find out, because Beyoncé never made it to the carpet.

As disappointed as all of us at home were over the queen's absence, we can only imagine how heartbroken celebs like Tituss Burgess, Ellie Kempner and Laverne Cox were, who said they would freak out or even "faint" if they had the chance to meet the Dreamgirls superstar.

Queen Bey was up for her first Emmy for Lemonade, the visual album she released on HBO back in April. You may remember it as the most amazing thing you have ever seen, the television event you were willing to give up your Saturday night plans for, or the thing responsible for giving us the phrase, "Boy, Bye."

Bey directed and starred in the series, and was nominated for four awards including "Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special" and "Outstanding Variety Special."

While we are all seriously depressed that Bey didn't make it to this year's awards (especially because there were rumors that she was possibly going to perform) I can only imagine that she had a good excuse.

...Like working on another secret visual album to get her nominated next year.
