Julia Louis-Dreyfus 2016 Emmys LBD Was Perfect

Black isn't always the most popular color on red carpets at major Hollywood events, like the Emmys or Oscars. That didn't matter to Veep 's Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who wore an LBD to the 2016 Emmys. She looked absolutely gorgeous in the long dress. It was an emotional and bittersweet night for the former Seinfeld star, who won the Best Actress in a Comedy Emmy. Her father William Louis-Dreyfus passed away on Friday, Sept. 16 and she dedicated the win to her late dad in touching, tearful, and very JL-D fashion. She looked absolutely beautiful while accepting her statue and while giving her dad a bit of a eulogy in her acceptance speech.

The sleeveless gown had a halter neck yet it didn't plunge too far. That allowed the frock to remain classic and beautiful. It wasn't a typical black dress, either. It was black fabric overlay and it had a patent leather belt that also added a criss-cross detail on the bodice.

There was plenty of detailing with this dress, which you had to look closely at to fully see and appreciate. Sometimes you can't always see details on black dresses unless you really take a closer look.

JL-D's dress was totally worth the second (and third) look.
