Betsy Brandt's Heading Back To Cable Drama

by Alanna Bennett

It'd be fair to say that a whole lot of people miss Breaking Bad. That probably won't fully dissipate until the 2014 Emmys (the show's last year of eligibility), if ever. And so the Sauron-like eyes of the pop culture obsessed are half trained on that upcoming Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul — and half trained on whatever it is that the Breaking Bad cast happens to be doing with their post-bad lives. For Aaron Paul that's Need For Speed; for Anna Gunn there's Gracepoint, that American remake of the UK's Broadchurch. Now, for Betsy Brandt, that's Masters of Sex .

Brandt, who played Marie, the occasionally kleptomaniacal sister-in-law of Walter White on Breaking Bad for its entire run, will be stepping into the second season of new cable buzz-hoarder Masters of Sex. She will be playing Dr. William Masters' (Michael Sheen) newest secretary. We doubt she'll have the impact that Virgina (Lizzy Caplan) has on Masters, but given her drama cred we'd wager she'll leave more of a mark than some of the other celebrities who've cycled through.

Since Breaking Bad wrapped up filming Brandt's most notable role was that of Annie Henry, Michael J. Fox's wife, in NBC's ill-fated The Michael J. Fox Show . It's of course too soon to tell, but we have a feeling Masters Of Sex will fare better.
