Prediction: This Friendship Will Go Super Well

by Alanna Bennett

Damn, heroes sure have to pay a high price for their heroism, amirite? At least, that's what they keep bashing us with, like in this new (and final) Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer. Because Peter Parker's got a price to pay, and apparently, it's for being so damn awesome and stepping on some villainous toes.

Here's the synopsis of the film, via Collider, for a better glimpse into what toes he'll be stepping on this time (hint: It's Oscorp):

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.

I'd actually say that Dane DeHaan (Kill Your Darlings) is the real star of this trailer, with his intense eyes (read: freaky but beautiful, like a romantic junkie or Draco Malfoy) and his blossoming friendship with Peter. Now, given that he's also like "WE GOTTA CRUSH A SPIDER" later in the trailer, and to the film's main villain (Jamie Foxx) no less, I wouldn't get too attached to that Peter and Dane's manbond. But it's nice for now.

I wonder what James Franco's feeling are on all this.
