Finn's Fate In 'Episode 8' May Have Been Revealed

by Michelle Lulic

Spoilers for The Force Awakens ahead. At the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, fans were shaken by the unexpected loss of a fan favorite character. However, there was another character who was harmed by the actions of the Dark Side in the film: Finn (played by actor John Boyega). In an attempt to save Rey and fight off Kylo Ren, the former Stormtrooper ended Episode VII deeply injured and left behind. However, according to MakingStarWars.net, Finn's future in Episode VIII could be looking bright. In fact, despite his temporary separation from Rey, Finn will be on his own feet and fighting for the rebellion in no time.

"Medical staff have now placed Finn in a bubble suit (to elaborate, we have it on good authority it is called a bacta suit), to heal his injuries," they revealed. "There is apparently a sequence where Finn is cut or removed from the suit and is revealed to be in better condition than ever before. Shortly after this moment, Finn embarks on a journey that is sure to make him a 'big deal' in the Resistance."

From the sound of this alleged first scene, Finn is finally ready to head up his own journey — and take orders from no one. And that's so great to hear.

Since Poe Dameron made an unexpected reappearance at the end of Episode VII, I'm personally hoping that those two team up and continue to fight the First Order together. I mean, they already have the best bromance in the galaxy. And since it's very likely that Finn will be very committed to finding Rey again and helping her, Poe could easily train Finn to become one of the resistance's top fighter pilots. That would lead him and Poe on a mission across the galaxy to assist Rey, and maybe even settle their own business with Kylo Ren and the First Order.

Of course, Finn's adventure could also very well throw fans for a curveball. Maybe his journey will finally tell us more about his family and where he comes from? Or perhaps Finn really does have his own personal connections to the Force? With Finn's story finally taking off anything is possible as long as he's healthy and ready for more action.

So you can sleep a little easier at night knowing that all is well with Finn for now. But, as always, our questions surrounding Star Wars: Episode VIII will just have to wait until December 15, 2017.
