Jay Z Has Something to Say to Him

by Celeste Mora

Drake may have sworn off interviews forever, but his last interview with Rolling Stone interview is still giving him trouble. In an interview with Rolling Stone's Jonah Weiner, Drake claimed to be "friends" with Kanye and Jay Z. But then he proceeded to criticize their recent work. Of Jay Z's latest tracks, Drake said:

"It's like Hov can't drop bars these days without at least four art references!" he says. "I would love to collect at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny."

Even though Drake recanted many of the quotes in the article, Jay clearly held a grudge. After the interview was published, Drake tweeted that he "never commented on Yeezus," but did not address his dig at Jay's lyrics. In his latest guest appearance on Jay Electronica's "We Made It," Jay addresses Drake's comment directly. He says in his verse,

Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk,
Silly me, rappin' 'bout shit that I really bought,
While these rappers rap about guns that they ain't shot.
And a bunch of other silly shit that they ain't got.

We'll see how Drake responds to Jay Z's diss, but he would be wise to keep apologizing. Hov knows how to write a diss song, and he clearly is ready to defend the throne.
