But who brings this lovable character to life? That would be American Housewife star Katy Mixon.

American Housewife, premiering Tuesday, Oct. 11, tells the story of an unapologetically real mom raising kids in a neighborhood that doesn’t just keep up with the Joneses, but laps them. In the trailer for the series, viewers learn that the Otto family lives in the wealthy community in order for the youngest child to be able to attend a school accommodating to her special needs. Though, the entire family deals with the elite suburb in different ways — her son is money obsessed and her teen daughter is exposed to fitness trends. As, Katie Otto puts it, “My full time job is to make sure one of my kids fits in more and two fit in less.”
