Tom Hiddleston Has An Exciting New Role

I have a problem, and that problem is that I'm way too attracted to Tom Hiddleston. I think he's so funny, and I think he's so talented, and I think he's so charming. I almost can't watch movies where he personifies those traits in a character anymore, because I'm already in too deep. Luckily, Tom Hiddleston's role in Early Man is music to my ears, because it sounds like he plays a character that I'll be able to watch without swooning. According to The Hollywood Reporter , Hiddleston has signed on for a role in Aardman Animation's upcoming prehistoric comedy, which will be directed by Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park, and takes place at the beginning of humankind's presence on the globe.

Our beautiful boy will play Lord Nooth, the governor of the Bronze Age town that Early Man's story is centered around. He's described by Deadline as "ridiculously pompous" and a "money-loving tyrant," which is honestly perfect. Hiddleston playing a role that has negative character traits, and he may not even appear onscreen? (Just a guess, because, even though there are reports that the movie is filming now, all the reports have said that Hiddleston will be voicing the character instead of playing him. I'm imagining some animation afoot.) Either way, I can manage. And I'm not the only one excited about it.

Here's Hiddleston speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the role:

I have been a fan of Nick Park and Aardman for as long as I can remember, and am incredibly honored to be working with Nick and the team on this adventure. I’m thrilled to be able to breathe some semblance of life into this hysterical villain and to work with Eddie for the first time. Early Man made me laugh out loud when I read it. Lord Nooth is larger than life in every respect. I can’t wait for audiences to meet him.

Neither can we, Tom Hiddleston, neither can we. It sounds like Lord Nooth will be the antagonist to Eddie Redmayne's protagonist; Redmayne will play Dug, the movie's hero, hailing from a simpler time: the Stone Age. He and his sidekick Hognob will rise up against Lord Nooth's Bronze Age city, and I will be clapping my hands in delight the entire time. I'll be able to follow the plot instead of wondering if Hiddleston and I would ever truly work out as a couple.

There's no release date being floated for Early Man just yet, but, with a pairing like Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston, you can bet I'll have my eyes peeled for new details.
