How To Buy Pat McGrath's Metalmorphosis

by Zoe Weiner

There has only been one beauty launch in history that I have been willing to sit by my computer to wait for: Pat McGrath's Metalmorphosis. McGrath has been teasing the line on social media for the last two months (And, BTW, if you're following only one beauty account in Instagram, it should be @PatMcGrathReal), and the day has finally come. The queen of metallic makeup (and of beauty in general) is launching her latest collection on Tuesday, and I for one cannot wait.

Celebrities, editors and beauty-buffs have been raving about MetalMorphosis for months (and showing off their gilded eyes and lips, care of their advanced samples) and now it's our turn. MetalMorphosis005 will go on sale at 12 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 15 on PatMcGrath.com. Considering how abuzz the internet already is about the collection, will probably be sold out by 12:05 p.m. ET. This is the second launch in the legendary makeup artist's line, the first of which — her LUST004 glitter line — sold out very quickly. The 005 line will eventually be available on Sephora.com, too, but it's unclear as to when that will happen.

The collection includes metallic pigments and creams that can be used all over your face (lips, eyes, cheeks, brows — literally anywhere). The Gold001 cream pigment was included in the first collection, and is now back again with it's "sisters" (as McGrath calls them) silver, copper, and bronze. It also happens to come in gold sequin filled packaging, so if you do manage to get your hands on it you have a ready-made excuse to throw yourself a mini party.

There are 10 different products in total, which you can buy in color kits or all together.

1. Everything

Metalmorphosis 005 Everything Kit, $165, PatMcGrath.com

This is the holy grail of metallic kits. It comes with all four metallic shades in both pigments and creams, as well as a black dual-ended marker and mixing liquid.

2. Color Kits

If you're willing to commit to just one color (which for me, personally, would be impossible), these kits include the pigment and cream versions of the shade as well as the mixing gel and the marker. The bronze is pictured above, but the gold, silver and copper are also available for the same price.

3. Just The Marker

Metalmorphosis Black Dual-Ended Marker, $24, PatMcGrath.com

Metallic makeup not for you? You can still get in on the Metalmorphosis fun with the dual-ended black liner.

Now, here is a swatch video that you will not be able to stop watching. Sorry in advance for stunting your afternoon productivity.
