How Much Are M.A.C.'s New Shadescents Perfumes?

by Rachel Nussbaum

M.A.C.'s lipsticks create a cult like few others. Whether you're a Velvet Teddy, Lady Danger, Heroine, or Ruby Woo, once you find your lippie you're in it for life — they've nailed the colors that universally work. And now, M.A.C. enthusiasts can live their passion in more sense than one. That's right. M.A.C.'s taking their iconic colors to the smell sense, with Shadescents, fragrances inspired by the "personalities" of six cult-favorite lipsticks. And good news: if you're wondering how much M.A.C.'s new Shadescents perfumes are, they won't break the bank.

The Shadescents are at the upper edge of M.A.C.'s price range at $57 dollars each, according to Fashionista, but that's not bad compared to most designer perfumes. A relief, because the range of lipstick-inspired perfumes is hard to choose from.

Ruby Woo is a woody floral with "notes of red leather" (of course), witchy Heroine draws on "saffron and incense smoke," and MLBB Velvet Teddy is based on wild honey notes. Orange-red Lady Danger is a "woody floriental" with notes of wild cherry, while '60s-esque Crème d'Nude is darker with amber musk, inspired by the scent of bare skin. Bubblegum pink Candy Yum-Yum — no brainer — is candy sweet.

The best news is, the lipsticks that inspired it all are also getting a revamp (nothing with the formula or colors though, exhale). According to PopSugar, M.A.C.'s Shadescents collection will feature "both the new scent and the lipstick that inspired it, complete with new packaging for your favorite lip colors." What does that mean? Packaging that does due diligence to the beauty of the colors they contain.
