Jill Zarin's Husband's Cancer Has Spread To His Brain, But They Are Remaining "Strong" Through It All
Here is some sad news for this former Real Housewives of New York City star. While chatting with E! News at the Angel Ball in New York City Monday, Jill Zarin revealed her husband's cancer has spread to his brain. "He's getting the best of care," she said about her husband, Bobby Zarin. "We like to share this story because we like to help everybody. We have a great team... He had thyroid cancer that had spread to the lungs but it's all going to be good." Bobby added, "It's just so fresh but I feel great."
Jill also opened up about their tough journey to Us Weekly in a statement released Tuesday. "We received the news last week that Bobby's cancer has spread to his brain." She said that sometime next week "Bobby will undergo treatment" in Houston, Texas with a team of doctors specializing in gamma knife radiation.
During RHONY Season 3, part of Jill Zarin's story line revolved around her husband's June 2009 thyroid cancer diagnosis. According to E! News, Bobby's thyroid was removed and he also underwent a radioactive iodine treatment. Us Weekly reports that he "underwent a special treatment to kill cancerous cells," but the cancer returned in 2013. However, in 2015, E! reports that it was discovered during a routine checkup that his cancer had spread to his lungs and they continued to be scanned for two years to keep an eye on whether or not the tumors had grown. Per E! news, the tumors were removed in April 2015.
"We remain strong during this difficult time with the love and support of our family, friends, and fans who remind us that we are not alone in our fight against cancer," Jill's statement to Us reads. "Cancer is a disease that affects people all around the world and we must unite through this common bond, and work together to find a cure once and for all."
