Emma Stone is the Queen of Casual Glam

by Mary Avant

You know that old saying, “Absence only makes the heart grow fonder?” Well, we can definitely attest to that, because after months away from the cameras and off of the red carpet, we couldn’t have been more elated to see our favorite red-headed (and sometimes blond) starlet step back into the spotlight at last.

Trekking across the globe to promote her upcoming action flick The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro , Emma Stone has been hitting panels, premieres, photo calls, and more alongside co-star and boyfriend Andrew Garfield while donning a string of naturally fabulous ensembles. And the most impressive part? She doesn't even need to resort to fancy gowns and daring outfits to completely wow us. Instead, Stone is relying on her fail-safe penchant for flawless, casual-glam styles that always look like the chicest, most effortless thing on the red carpet.

The most recent of these ensembles was the classic and sophisticated Valentino frock Stone donned at a press conference in Tokyo earlier this week. The structured black dress — which she paired with pinned-back waves, berry-colored lips, and black Louboutin pumps — featured a multicolored, embellished bib that gave the tailored look just the right amount of feminine edge.

Last week, the gorgeous actress also hit Singapore to promote the Spider-Man film, attending a World Wide Fund For Nature–sponsored event in a menswear-inspired Balenciaga look consisting of cropped black pants, a structured black-and-white top, and an envy-inducing caped vest.

Making a complete 180 from her edgy, androgynous look, Stone showed up to another fan event in Singapore wearing a flirty, head-to-toe burgundy ensemble from Christian Dior that featured a delicate lace overlay and voluminous tea-length skirt. Pairing the look with a sleek, side-part bob and matching velvet pumps, she proved that red on red (on red) is a look that wows every time (and a look worth reprising in Beijing).

We should have known Stone’s Spider-Man 2 press tour style would be fabulous — one, because she kicked it off a few weeks ago in Sydney wearing an awesome striped number and two, because she never looks anything less than amazing.

And even though we're enjoying the casual-chic styles that even the average Jane could pull off in real life, we have to admit: We're really looking forward to those big-time premieres when she steps up her style game even further.
