Sterling K. Brown Reacts To His SAG Noms

Hands down, Sterling K. Brown is one of the best actors to have ever graced the small screen. He has turned 2016 into something enjoyable with both of his performances in NBC's This Is Us as Randall Pearson and FX's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story as Christopher Darden. Clearly, he recognizes how lucky he is to not only be an actor, but to be part of two fantastic series' playing two memorable and beloved characters. That's something he showed after the 2017 SAG Awards nominations were announced Wednesday and he earned a double nomination for his roles previously mentioned. On Instagram, Sterling K. Brown reacted to his two SAG nominations in an extremely emotional way.

"I'm gonna try to say this without bursting into tears," he begins the video before tears start forming and streaming down his face over his noms in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series and the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series categories. Brown then continues,

"Thank you, SAG-AFTRA, for recognizing my work twice in categories that aren't supporting and lead, but just actors. I love what I do so much, and to be recognized by my peers in this way is very difficult for me to process right now, but also very very humbling and very very cool. I love you, actors. I love spending time with you and getting to know you, and I thank you for recognizing me."

Like his fans and viewers of both This Is Us and American Crime Story, actors also see how magnificent Brown is and how he has influenced TV in great ways. That has to be a wonderful feeling and based on his reaction, it is.

If you've yet to watch his thank you video, you might need a box of tissues just like you do every time Brown appears as Randall Pearson. He just can't help but make everyone feel so many emotions each time he speaks both on and off the screen. It's one of his many gifts and I definitely wouldn't have it any other way.

It's unfortunate that Brown also didn't score two 2017 Golden Globe nominations (he did get nominated for American Crime Story, though), but it's good to know that at least his peers recognize his greatness. He truly deserves all of the awards.
