'Glee' Premiere Delayed Following Monteith's Death

by Kate Ward

Glee fans will have to wait a bit longer to find out how the series pays tribute to Corey Monteith, who died in Vancouver Saturday at 31 years old. Fox announced that its series premiere — slated for Sept. 19 — has been delayed following the actor's death as Ryan Murphy and the series' writers determine how to handle Finn Hudson's departure on the show.

Two episodes of Glee had been shot prior to Monteith's passing. According to Deadline, the Fox series' writers "need more time to rewrite those episodes and consider how to most respectfully deal with the death of the actor." Season 5's new premiere date is scheduled for one week later, on Sept. 26.
