Disney's Easter Eggs Put Yours to Shame

by Allie Healy

It's a known fact that Disney goes all out for holidays, including Easter. In celebration of this weekend's holiday, Disney is hosting its third annual Easter egg display, featuring large, edible eggs ranging in size from 16 to 20 inches. The display, held at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, shows off the amazing works of art by Master Pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek and her team of 19 whimsical artists.

Each egg masterpiece is created not by magic, but tinted cocoa butter, modeling chocolate, fondant, sculpted sugar, and royal icing. The sugary works of art feature images from different Disney movies like Tangled, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Lady and the Tramp and, this year's newest addition, Frozen. This year's collection features 18 eggs in total. Erich said each egg took 18 to 20 hours to create over the span of three weeks, proving her dedication to the craft.

Check out a sampling of the beautiful creations below:

So when you/re aimlessly dunking those hardboiled eggs into dye these next few days, think of Erich's creations and feel inspired to take Easter to the next level. Go ahead and bring the magic of Disney right to your home.
