Apple Tests Out Bigger Screens on New iPhone & iPad Prototypes
Everyone who sees the upcoming iOS 7 software on my iPhone raises their eyebrows and says the same thing: that the new interface looks just like a Windows phone, or an Android.
Now, it looks like Apple may be drawing even more inspiration from their competitors for their next round of updates.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple has been trying out new models of the iPhone with screens larger than four inches, and iPads with a nearly 13-inch diagonal. Android and Windows smartphones and tablets have been getting bigger and bigger, a move that is seen to have drawn some customers away from the iPhone. But with screens reaching up to 6.4-inches across, this growth trend is getting a little ridiculous.
It remains to be seen whether or not the prototypes Apple is testing will ever actually make their way to store shelves. Personally, I enjoy being able to carry around my iPhone without being asked every five minutes, "Is that a smartphone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?" But maybe that's just me...
