At the 'ELLE' Women in Music Celebration, the Bold and the Beautiful Take Over
If there’s one thing ELLE definitely knows how to do, it’s throw a party. Whether it’s a Women in Hollywood celebration or a Women in TV bash, the magazine’s parties bring out some of the best and brightest on the Hollywood scene. Of course, last night’s 5th annual ELLE Women in Music Celebration was no exception, attracting stars like Sophia Bush, Kat Graham, Stacy Keibler, and more whose outfits ran the gamut of brilliantly bold to breathtakingly beautiful. And it’s not that the ladies in attendance weren’t all beautiful (I would be insane if I thought otherwise). Rather, some stars chose a more polished, classic red carpet style, while others chose to, well... play it anything but safe. Bold: Zendaya Coleman
The young pop star has been throwing us some fashion curve balls lately, from a baggy DKNY pantsuit at Fashion Week to her super-casual, cutoff-shorts look at the Kids’ Choice Awards. But her most recent outfit may be the quirkiest yet, with its plaid Vivienne Westwood coat and pants, crisp crop top, and stark white fedora.
Beautiful: Sophia Bush
From the sleek ponytail and defined eye to the structured white dress and slight peek of skin, Bush’s look has all the makings of a classic-meets-modern ensemble that delivers both elegance and a little bit of edge.
Bold: Stacy Keibler
Remember when a pregnant Kerry Washington shocked us all at the 2014 SAG Awards when she hit the red carpet in an (admittedly glamorous) Prada crop top? Well it looks like Keibler is trying to pull the same stunt, showing off her tiny baby bump in a sexy BCBG Max Azria gown complete with revealing side cutouts. But hey, if you’ve got it, flaunt it, right?
Beautiful: Kat Graham
Yes, you read that right. While Graham is typically the one wearing daring outfits on the red carpet, she kept it super classy last night in a simple blouse and midi skirt combo (with bright hues and bold prints, to boot).
Bold: Rumer Willis
Not afraid to show off her fair share of skin, Willis posed on the red carpet in a rather revealing, all-black number that featured a long-sleeved crop top and a majorly cut-out skirt.
Beautiful: Aly Michalka
The actress and singer looked gorgeous and glam in her crocodile-embossed, brilliant blue tank dress, whose keyhole cutout revealed just the smallest sliver of skin.
Bold: Willa Holland
Dressed in blue, too, the Arrow star channeled a distinctly ’90s vibe with her menswear-inspired dress, which opened to revealing matching plaid shorts and mint green pumps.
Beautiful: Shantel VanSanten
From the draped, black satin to the off-the-shoulder cut, the former One Tree Hill actress proved yet again that it’s really hard to go wrong in a classic LBD.
