Yes, This 'TMNT' Movie's Just Getting Started

by Alanna Bennett

Yes, Megan Fox's April O'Neil does faint just as hard in this newest trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles . To be fair, she's dealing with giant mutant turtle-shaped teenagers dressed up like ninjas and promising they're not that weird. In other words: We'd be freaked out, too, and we're pretty used to superhero types.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes out Aug 8, which means we're probably just on the cusp of complete oversaturation when it comes to this thing's press tour. On the plus side of that is a likely uptick in frank Megan Fox and Whoopi Goldberg interviews — because yes, Whoopi Goldberg is in this movie. The downside is that producer Michael Bay might say some things as well.

As for the teenage mutant ninja turtles themselves, here's a description from Den Of Geek on how it's expected the individual group members will translate to the big screen — and their new CGI form:

There are individual physical and personality traits which distinguish them. Leonardo is described as "muscled like a middle-linebacker, he is the oldest of the turtles." Raphael is "the most yolked of the group. and boy does he need those massive shoulders to carry around that giant chip." Donatello is "the brainiest and most zen." While, unsurprisingly, Michelangelo is "the youngest and most free-wheelin'." Throughout the script, the Turtles use their shells offensively and defensively, even retracting their extremities completely within them in order to barrel through walls or bowl over foes.
