He's The New Host Of 'Millionaire'

by Mallory Schlossberg

Talk about versatility. Terry Crews is going to be the next host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire . Nope, your eyes are not deceiving you: this is the same Terry Crews who plays Sargaent Terry Jeffords in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Also, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is still on television.

Crews really has had quite the versatile career — we're talking about the fact that he's a former NFL star as well as the Old Spice Guy. Seriously! He's turned his football career into a successful acting career, which not many former sports stars can say. And now, he's succeeding Cedric The Entertainer to host of one of the biggest game show franchises. For real, people — this show is entering its 13th season. Sure, it's now syndicated, but hey — 13 is a pretty high number for a television season. (Anyone else remember when Regis Philbin guided people to one million dollars?)

And it looks like, Crews is pretty excited, too. He said in a statement:

I’m beyond thrilled to be joining Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and the Disney-ABC family [...] Millionaire is such a beloved franchise and I can’t wait to get started as the new host. In addition to my film projects including Blended,Brooklyn Nine-Nine and now being a first time author, hosting has always been a dream of mine, and I couldn’t have asked for a greater opportunity.

This is definitely a hosting choice that we can get behind. He'll be so entertaining. And even though we currently think of him as his character on BK99, this feels incredibly appropriate right now:

Uh... free Old Spice for people who don't win a million bucks, maybe?
