It's a sad day for the family and friends of April Jace. According to reports, 48-year-old The Shield actor Michael Jace has been charged with shooting his wife April Jace, 40. According to reports, Jace called 911 after allegedly shooting her on Monday night at approximately 8:30 PM. Jace allegedly confessed to the crime to the 911 operator, telling the operator "I shot my wife." When the police arrived Monday night, April Jace was found dead by a gunshot wound. According to reports, the couple's children were in the house at the time of the shooting, though it is unclear at this point whether they witnessed the shooting taking place. According to Detective Sal LaBarbera, this is the first time the police have gotten a call from the area regarding domestic abuse.

The police booked Jace on suspicion of murder at 3:30 AM Tuesday morning. The police are not currently looking for additional suspects in the case, and believe that this was an isolated incident.

Jace is best known for his work on the FX series The Shield, where he played a police officer. He also appeared in films like Forrest Gump and Planet of the Apes. He was married to his wife for over nine years.
