Katy Perry & Madonna’s Dominatrix Photo Shoot Is Either A Metaphor Or An Excuse For Lingerie — PHOTOS

Sometimes magazine shoots feature an actress smiling brightly in a colorful dress, sometimes they look like fashion editorials, and sometimes you get two singers tying each other up bondage style. Katy Perry and Madonna are on V Magazine's Summer 2014 cover with Bettie Page bangs and fierce expressions on their faces, but inside the magazine things get even more dominatrixy. It's all obviously a metaphor for something because you don't just put Katy Perry and Madonna in lingerie and have them pretend to torture each other for no reason, do you?

This could be about Katy Perry taking the pop music provocateur torch from Madonna. In one photo Katy Perry sits on Madonna's back and pulls her hair. In another she holds on to ropes that have Madonna's wrists bound. There was also a previously released photo which shows Madonna kneeling on the floor and Katy Perry with a whip in her hand. If this is what they're going for, don't tell Madonna 'cause I've got a feeling she doesn't have any plans to give up her place in pop music nor her place in risque magazine shoots any time soon.

The issue has not yet been released but judging by a sneak peak V released of select quotes, Perry sees Madonna as an idol and Madonna sees Madonna as an idol as well. (Not that she's wrong.) Madonna says, "I would always say, Dad, I’m an artist, I have to express myself. You don’t understand. I think he’s finally come to terms with it. It’s only taken 30 years. He’s like, Do you have to simulate masturbation on the bed? Do you have to? Yes, Dad, I do." Perry responds, "I haven’t gone that far yet, but maybe under your great mentorship I might reach that point."

As for whether these photos really mean something about Katy Perry becoming the new Madonna, who knows. Putting Katy Perry and Madonna in lingerie and having them pretend to torture each other for no reason — other than cool looking photos — was always a possible second option.
