'The Americans' Should Be Your Next Obsession

by Kate Ward

We can picture your summer last year perfectly. Finally getting the opportunity to enjoy the post-May TV doldrums, you picked up a new obsession that your cool friends shamed you for not watching already: Showtime's Homeland, the recipient of the most Television Critics Association Award (TCA) nominations in 2012.

So it seems natural to think that you all will be playing catch-up this summer with the TCA's most-nominated series in 2013, The Americans. Yep, it seems the television taste makers have chosen the Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys 1980s spy series to be the next series that eats up your DVR, having nominated it for three awards. Of course, other TV favorites like Breaking Bad and House of Cards aren't far behind.
