Actor Matthew Cowles Has Died

by Caitlyn Callegari

Sad news to report, folks. Matthew Cowles has passed away at age 69. The actor was known for his work on All My Children and The Bold and the Beautiful. Cowles had appeared in countless televisions shows and films over his four decade career, but was perhaps best known as villain Billy Clyde Tuggle, for which he was nominated for two daytime Emmys. Other notable appearances include a stint in Oz playing character William Brandt and as Cowboy Dan in the short-lived time traveling detective series Life On Mars. The actor didn't strictly keep his talents to the screen. He both performed on Broadway in The Time of You Life and Sweet Bird of Youth, and has also written three plays.

Cowles leaves behind his wife, The Good Wife actress Christine Baranski. The couple has been married for over thirty years and they have two adult daughters, Isabel and Lily. Cowles manager, Tsu Tsu Stanton, both confirmed the actor's passing and expressed his condolences in a tweet saying, "He was a very gifted and kind man who loved life and everyone." No word yet on how the actor passed away, but it was noted that he did so at his home.

Our thoughts are with Cowles' family at this difficult time.
