You Wanna See Amy's New Book Cover

by Lia Beck

Did you know Amy Poehler has a book coming out? It hits shelves this fall, but in order to get you excited, Amy Poehler has revealed her book's cover and it looks both cool and flashy meaning you'll be sure to remember it come release time. Poehler's book is titled Yes Please and is a memoir with a "twist." According to Dey Street Books' (previously, It Books) description, "Her original twist on the conventional memoir will have universal appeal. An illustrated, non-linear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons, the book will be a unique and engaging experience from one of today’s most talented and beloved stars." Yes Please is said to include stories of friendship and parenting as well as advice for readers.

On the cover, Poehler is shown reaching her hand up into the air, as if volunteering herself for something — Activities that help her reach her goals? The opportunity to have an awesome life? — and sits in front of a bright neon sign with the book's title, Yes Please.

Poehler previously released one of the book's essays, "Take Your Licks," to the New Yorker. If this story is any indication, the book may have a slightly more serious tone than you might expect from a comedian turned author.

Yes Please will be released Oct. 28, 2014 at which point you can "read and buy and give as presents and then buy again." Assuming you take the purchasing advice Poehler gave during the cover's Today show reveal, that is.
