Is She Seeing Someone New?

It's only been a month since the news that Uma Thurman and Arpad Busson called off their engagement and Thurman's love life is already receiving spotlight once again. Although the wording is still vague, Us Weekly reports that Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarantino are in a relationship or, at the very least, that they have taken their relationship "to the next level", whatever that means. Thurman and Tarantino have been friends for years, a friendship that has spanned the two decades since Tarantino first directed Thurman in Pulp Fiction, and according to the sources Tarantino has loved Thurman for years.

Thurman and Tarantino's alleged newfound relationship appears to be based in that friendship and in the fact that Tarantino has been comforting Thurman in the wake of her breakup. The two are said to have shared a villa while attending the 2014 Cannes Film Festival in the South of France.

"There has always been an attraction," says a source. "She has indulged from time to time, and that's how their relationship has always worked."

While it's true that Tarantino and Thurman have always been close, it seems like a bit of a stretch to think that their relationship could have so quickly turned romantic just because they both happen to be single right now. Thurman just split with her fiance in April and Tarantino recently ended a rumored relationship with costume designer Courtney Hoffman. The timing would be perfect, but if things have heated up between them then it's likely they're both still in the rebound stage. It seems a lot more likely that the two of them are just comforting one another as friends by spending time together rather than getting up to anything truly sordid.

Of course, Thurman and Tarantino are both adults capable of making their own decisions and it wouldn't be absurd to find out that they are actually dating. If their friendship is any indication of how a relationship between them could work, then it could end up being really sweet.
