This Rapper's Taking Cues From An Aardvark

by Sofia Barrett-Ibarria

Chance The Rapper has been performing this cover of the Arthur theme song since April, and it's kind of amazing. Yes, Arthur , as in the lovable aardvark and star of the animated PBS kids show you binge-watched when you were a child, way before "binge-watching" existed, and your parents were totally fine with because it was educational. Arthur taught us many things, like how to cultivate a life-long love of reading, and that aardvarks are a thing. If you've completely blocked out all memory of your childhood or if you have never watched Arthur and have no soul, have a listen below to the original theme song, written by Ziggy Marley, and you'll be transported back to the days when you hated vegetables and picked your nose, or whatever it is you used to do as a kid. Now, Chance The Rapper has resurrected the classic Arthur theme in an updated version that makes you think, "Wait. Is that... ? NO WAY!!!!" And it is. It's totally the Arthur theme song.

If the thought of Chance The Rapper covering the theme song of your all-time favorite childhood TV show makes you nervous, don't be: The Arthur theme is safe with Chance The Rapper, and it's awesome. Will a Magic School Bus theme song cover be next? SAY YES, CHANCE, SAY YES!

Here's Chance The Rapper performing "Best That You Can Be" at the Sasquatch Music Festival in April:

Don't even pretend like you wouldn't jam out to that.

Of course, the classic:
