Jessica Alba Targets a New Venture

by Shorey Andrews

Eco-friendly shoppers were bowing down to Jessica Alba when news broke this Thursday that the celebrity's popular brand Honest Company is coming to Target and Target.com this June. The union of the two companies make sense, as Target's company-wide initiative this year is to incorporate more eco-friendly products for their customers. This initiative has been dubbed Made To Matter and includes other environmental and body-friendly products like Plum Organics and SheaMoisture.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with Alba's side project, the idea is quite simple. A few years ago the actress, found herself very frustrated by the lack of natural product options for her babies and home life. She reached out to her friend Christopher Gavigan and after much consideration, the two of them created the line Honest Company and took on the roles of Eco-friendly product gurus. The line has had much success, but of course how could it not with Jessica Alba steering the wheel. From diapers and rash cream to shampoos, SPF and face cream, the Honest Company knows a thing or two about keeping us beautiful without involving harsh chemicals.

In a recent press release, Alba spoke about her excitement for the brand to reach a mass retailer like Target.

"As a busy working mom, I know you can't always anticipate when you're going to need something. It's great to have a partner like Target that offers convenience and great values at any given moment. We're excited to launch The Honest Company products in Target stores and on Target.com to provide easy access to our safe, stylish and accessibly-priced products."

Mark it in your calendars. The Honest Company hits stores and online June 15.
