Jessica Biel Is More Interesting Than You Think

by Rachel Simon

Some celebrities like to talk about their pets. Others like to talk about their body parts. For Jessica Biel, anything is fair game.

The actress refuses to shy away from the personal, and she's willing to tell anyone — talk show hosts, the paparazzi, random strangers on the street, etc. — intimate, sometimes weird, sometimes awesome things about herself. While the honesty might turn some people off, it just makes us love her more. It's easy to forget that Biel is a talented, likable actress, not just The Woman Who Married Justin Timberlake, so here are five quotes to remind you:

On her ... interesting ... childhood:

"I'm not squeamish at all. As a child I dragged a dead squirrel home on my skateboard and cut it open and tried to look at its brain."

On the problems of being attractive:

"I just want an opportunity. If you don't like the audition, don't hire me! But if you don't want to even see me -- that's hurtful. And why? You know nothing about me!... It [her looks] really is a problem. I have to be blunt."

On ... blood?:

"I think I could drink my own blood. Is that weird?"

On blood. Again:

"At 10, I was intrigued by surgery, I wanted to be a surgeon for a long time. I love doctor shows and surgery shows. Blood is not an issue for me. I even took pictures once of me getting my blood taken."

On marriage (before Justin):

"I kind of go back and forth about marriage and kids. I feel like, if it's an organic way for me and the right time in my life, then, yeah. If it's right, it'll be right -- but, at this moment, that seems completely foreign.... I tell you, I have so many friends having babies and getting married, and they just want to put me where they are so we can go to nursery together and stuff. I'm like, "Noooooo!" I’m resisting."

It's refreshing to see an A-list celebrity who isn't afraid to be honest, even it borders on weird (that blood stuff is creepy). Jessica Biel, keep on being you.
