Watch the Trailer for Poehler's 'Are You Here'

by Anna Klassen

Mad Men's Matthew Weiner may be known for writing weekly drama for a gaggle of tweed-clad advertisers, but before he created AMC's hit series, Weiner was writing for the family drama The Sopranos. So it comes as no surprise that Weiner's big screen debut, Are You Here, will feature a serious subject: Family drama. While the film is chalked full of talented comedians — Amy Poehler, Owen Wilson and The Hangover's Zach Galifianakis — a death in the family is what sets the tone for the trailer.

Oddly enough, Weiner wrote the script for Are You Here before Mad Men even began, almost a decade ago, and according to Yahoo! Movies, spent more than a few years convincing Wilson to play the part of a womanizing weatherman. The film debuted at the Toronto Film Festival last fall to mixed reviews, but according to Weiner, the completed version audiences will see in theatres is “actually quite a bit different than it was at Toronto.”

We're intrigued! Watch the trailer for Are You Here below, and see the film when it comes out in theatres and on demand on August 22.
