Thongs Condoms Are Headed Your Way!

It seems like condom companies are always coming out with a new type of design that promises to be the most pleasurable EVER, with the latest being the hydrogel contraceptive that reportedly feels just like human skin. But now, there could be an entirely new kind of condom coming (ha) your way: the thong condom.

Created by Chinese student Kong Yongxiang, the contraceptive, officially called the Eros Protector, covers all of a man’s parts, including his testicles. So how exactly does it work? Basically, it’s worn like any other pair of underwear, but with a condom attached and a special pouch that shields the entire area around a penis. The design, seen in this drawing, was made both to create a less revealing type of contraceptive (I guess for people who’d rather not see their guy’s junk? Or for never rudes?) and to further prevent any leakage.

The Eros Protector also comes equipped with a Chinese herbal blend lubricant that helps to “maintain the pH balance of a woman’s private parts.” I hope that Yongxiang knows that some women won’t be too turned on by the sight of a man in a thong.

The condom hasn’t actually been produced yet, but Yongxiang has reportedly already earned $300,000 in backing from Guangdong Yuezheng Investment Management Limited to jumpstart the project.

I kind of feel like completely shielding your guy’s penis from view is counter-intuitive to the act of having sex. Plus, if there are men out there who don’t want to wear condoms now, I highly doubt they’ll be too gung-ho about wearing a thong-style one. Then again, everyone has a right to their own turn-ons and turn-offs. If this condom is successful and motivates more people to engage in safe sex, it can’t hurt. Whatever works, right?
