Their New Vid Includes a Model & Buster Bluth

by Sofia Barrett-Ibarria

Kate Upon and Tony Hale might sound like they don't go together, but somehow Lady Antebellum makes it work. Wait? The addition of the band makes it even more random doesn't it? Kate Upton stars in Lady Antebellum's music video for "Bartender" as a newly-single lady who decides to get over her ex the old-fashioned way: drowning her sorrows with shot after shot. And these shots happen to be served up by an overzealous bartender played by Tony Hale of Veep and Arrested Development fame. "Bartender" is the first single from Grammy-winner Lady Antebellum's fifth studio album which is scheduled for release later this year.

Kate Upton looks very Kate Upton-y as the beautiful and sad girl who's been dumped, but forgets her troubles soon enough with the help of a drink or five. Upton's character knocks back drinks, while somehow still looking "hot" because Kate Upton is a magical super-human and demands Hale's wacky bartender keep 'em coming. In the video, a weird boxing match-type drinking game ensues, Hale's drinks (and eyebrow movements) get more elaborate, hilarity ensues, and a great time is had by all. There's some heavy flirtation (I think it's flirtation?) between Upton and Hale's characters, a magical smoking shot glass, and some intense meta commentary on modern relationships and the fragility of life. (Well, probably not, but the ending is kind of weird).

Even if you're not a country music fan, or a Kate Upton fan, or a Tony Hale fan, this video may convert you. It's dangerously catchy and so crazy, it works.
