'Star Wars' Gets the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Mash-up Treatment & the Results are Incredible
Eventually, someone was bound to make a Marvel-Star Wars crossover video. The fandoms of the Sacred Original Trilogy and the Great United Multiverse intersect so perfectly, it's surprising that Wil Wheaton hasn't made a trailer for them. Luckily, Youtube used The Unusual Suspect has finally shattered the celluloid ceiling and given us the Star Wars -as- Guardians trailer we all have been waiting for. And don't worry, it both makes fun of the future of Star Wars, and celebrates its past, a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.
Although the creator chose the same format as that Guardians of the Galaxy trailer everyone was talking about in May, there are a few key differences between the Star Wars trailer and the original. First, Starlord doesn't start with Luke's opener, "allow me to introduce myself," which seems almost too pretentious even for the whiniest leading character in sci-fi history. Also, the Guardians trailer didn't allow most of the other characters to speak, which might make the Star Wars version more entertaining. Most important of all, the Star Wars version doesn't have any explanation for the "Hooked on a Feeling" section, which is, honestly, the best part of this summer's best trailer.
