Fifth Harmony & The Mighty Ducks Love the Flying V

by Alex Kritselis

On Monday, pop group Fifth Harmony debuted the cover art for their upcoming single, "BO$$," on Twitter, and it definitely makes a statement. In the simple yet stylish photo, each band member stands strong with her feet planted firmly on the ground, looking straight into the camera with a defiant, "Go ahead, make my day"-type look on her face. It's a great shot, and it certainly reflects the group's newfound edge that we heard in the "BO$$" preview a few weeks ago. Where their past single covers all seemed to say, "OMG, look at how much silly fun we're having!" The "BO$$" single cover proudly proclaims, "OMG, look at how grown-up we are."

Needless to say, this new picture has me even more excited to hear "BO$$" on July 8. But after looking at the cover for a while, I started to giggle at the girls' outfits. In addition to being scandalously short, it kind of looks like they're headed to a sexy Taekwondo class. It's through the park district. The first class was free. It's being taught by Tae Bo's Billy Blanks. From that point on, I just couldn't stop thinking about all of the hilarious things that the cover reminded me of. What can I say? I have a very active imagination.

So, without further ado, Fifth Harmony's "BO$$" single cover reminds me of...

A Flock of Fashionable Geese

Check out the group's stellar V formation! These high-fashion geese have flown home for the summer and they are ready to turn up! They're hungry for bread scraps — and also for love. They poo where they please and they DO NOT look both ways before crossing the street — traffic will just have to wait while they slowly waddle by! Take a good look, ladies and gentleman. You’ve never seen geese like this before.

Robert Palmer's Music Video Girls

The resemblance is kind of uncanny.

A Billboard for ABC's Newest Medical Drama

With those white lab coats they have on, the girls look like they could be starring in ABC’s newest (fictional) primetime soap opera, Desperate Trauma Surgeons. Of course, it's the brainchild of Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry and Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes. These powerful women know their way around the O.R. AND a man's heart. Oh, and in between risky surgeries and hot dates, they have to solve a cheesy "whodunit" murder mystery each week. Everyone's a suspect, etc.

Miley served just a BIT more '80s realness than 5H, but the overall aesthetic is pretty similar.

Blink 182's Sexy Nurse

I told you: it looks like they're wearing lab coats.

A Promo for Mean Girls: The College Years

Looking at the single cover, I would totally buy that the members of Fifth Harmony were starring in the next installment of the Mean Girls franchise: Mean Girls: The College Years. I mean, the faces they're making are the very definition of mean. And just check out how big everyone’s hair is! They’re keeping more than just secrets in there. We’re talking spiral notebooks, text books, Ugg boots, red solo cups, trail mix — you name it, it’s all in there.

A Movie Poster for a Mighty Ducks Reboot

If you couldn’t already tell, I am obsessed with the group's flying V formation on the single cover. Somebody phone up Disney ‘cause these ladies are ready to take the championship! They could absolutely be posing for a movie poster for The Mighty Ducks: Reloaded. Obviously, Normani is Gordon Bombay.

"BO$$" premieres on July 8.
