Robert Rodriguez released the trailer for his newest movie, Machete Kills, and by about two seconds in, you already know this is going to be a mind-blowingly awesome movie. I mean, Charlie Sheen plays the president. Do you even need to hear more?
Indeed, Machete Kills has an all-"star" cast, but the real surprise is the appearance of a certain diva: That's right — Lady Gaga, finally making the leap to movies. From the fleeting glimpse we get of her, we can surmise she is an assassin, but if this is a bid to gain further attention for her newest album, ARTPOP , well, she's got our attention.
Already, after seeing the trailer, the Gaga-Rodriguez pairing seems a wise choice. We are well aware that Gaga loves camp, and Rodriguez benefits from having one of the biggest pop stars in the world on film's call sheet, which, by the way, does not go wanting in this movie. A great cast is a great cast, but the idea of a movie that features Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara (with fembot-style machine gun boobs, by the way), Charlie Sheen, Amber Heard, Alexa Vega, Mel Gibson, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Lady Gaga is pretty much enough to make one's brain explode. So get excited, because Machete Kills and Lady Gaga are coming, and they're going to blow your fucking mind.
