'Guardians Of the Galaxy' Images Give Us Exciting First Look At Lee Pace's Role — PHOTOS
Now that the Iron Man films are pretty much at an end, the Marvel Cinematic Universe could really use another healthy dose of humor. Cap's dark, Thor's mystical, you get the picture: We need more wacky heroic hijinks. Enter Guardians of the Galaxy , whose new stills show us more sides of the group of rambunctious misfits who'll make up our heroic team. They also show our first look at Lee Pace in the role of the film's villain, Ronan the Accuser.
The photos in question come from Empire, who've got a great array of Guardians of the Galaxy -related swagger going on right now — including two covers of the cast's heroes and villains. One shows off Pace as Ronan, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, and Doctor Who's Karen Gillan as Nebula. The more we see of her, the more we can't wait to see her go toe-to-toe against Saldana's Gamora.
The stills show Chris Pratt as Peter "Star-Lord" Quill, Saldana as Gamora, and Dave Batista as Drax the Destroyer. Absent are Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon and Vin Diesel as Groot, but we pretty much know that they look like a giant humanoid tree and a gun-weidling raccoon. What we really needed to see more of was the impressive array of well-fitting leather Pratt and Saldana are rocking.
